Q: How do I get the LiveSafe App?

- Search for West Point
- Choose “Garrison”
- Enter your information for the profile with your phone number
- The “Pin” you get texted will only be used one time when you first start! Then you’re ready to go!

Q: Is The Thayer Hotel open to the public?
Yes! We welcome all guests and you do not need a special pass to dine, visit or stay at the hotel.
General
Q: What is check in/check out time?
Check-in is at 4:00pm. Check-out is at 11:00am.
Q: Do you allow smoking on property? Or in the guestrooms?
Smoking is NOT allowed in any part of the hotel or in the guestrooms. There is a $250 cleaning fee, per instance, of smoking anywhere in the building which will be charged to your guestroom. Guests may smoke outside in designated smoking areas.
Q: Is marijuana possession or consumption allowed on property?
The Thayer Hotel at West Point is governed by Federal law. Consumption or possession of marijuana in any form is not permitted on Thayer Hotel or West Point grounds.
Q: Could you explain the facility fee?
Our facility fee is a per day fee of $25.99 which includes wireless internet access for all guests (and all devices) within your guestroom, valet parking, use of our fitness center, free local and long distance calls, and a daily cup of coffee for each guest in the room.

Q: How much do you charge for wireless internet access?
Wireless internet access is included in our facility fee.
Q: Do you have a fitness center? What kind of equipment does it have? What are the hours?
Our 24-hour fitness center features free weights, cardio equipment, a Nautilus Power Cage and a Peloton cycle. Please note that our fitness center is accessible via stairs only. There is no elevator access.
Q: Do you offer room service? What are the hours?
Room service is not currently offered, however; guests are welcome to visit MacArthur's Riverview Restaurant to place an order to take back to their room.
Q: Do you have a business center?
We do not have a business center, but please inquire at the front desk or with your conference planner if you require assistance. We do have two computer kiosk in the lobby near the front desk available for guest use.
Q: Do you have a pool or a spa?
We do not have a pool or a spa.
Q: Do your rooms have mini-bars?
Our guestrooms do not have mini-bars. Refrigerators are available upon request at a rate of $15 per day.
Q: Who owns The Historic Thayer Hotel?
A consortium of West Point graduates led by Managing General Partner, Rick Minicozzi, USMA Class of ’86, are proud owners of The Historic Thayer Hotel. The hotel is managed by Director of Operations, Carlys Lemler, USMA Class of ’01.

Q: Where do I enter West Point?
You should enter at the Thayer Gate. All visitors to West Point who do not have government ID or contractor ID will be required to have a Visitor's Pass from the Visitor Control Center VCC. The VCC is located in the Frederic V. Malek West Point Visitors Center and is open from 6:00am-10:00pm daily. From 10:00pm-5:59am, visitors should visit the Stony Lonesome Gate for their background check and entry to West Point.

Q: Do I need any special pass to enter The Thayer Hotel?
When you enter West Point at the Thayer Gate, you do not require a special pass to enter The Thayer Hotel. At the Thayer Gate, you and any occupants of your vehicle who are over 16 years of age will be asked to furnish a valid photo identification such as; a current valid driver’s license or passport, or school ID (must be school-age). Acceptable forms of identification for adults over 18 include: driver’s licenses, a US passport, Department of Defense issued identification card, a permanent resident card/Alien Registration Receipt Card (1-551), a foreign passport with a temporary I-551 stamp or visa or an employment authorization document that contains a photograph (Form I-766). If you are going onto the main part of West Point, past the second gate, there are additional security requirements that can be found on the West Point official page. Learn More
Q: Do you offer free shuttle service?
We do not offer shuttle service.
Q: Do you have valet parking? How much is parking?
Valet parking is included in the daily facility fee for overnight guests. There is a $15.00 charge for valet services for day guests.
Q: Is there handicap parking?
We have limited handicap parking spaces located at the front of the hotel. In the event that those are taken, our valet staff will assist you.
Q: What is the closest train station/airport?
The closest train station is the Metro-North station in Garrison, NY, about a 15 minute drive. The closest airport is Stewart International Airport in Newburgh, NY, about a 30 minute drive.
Q: Do you provide transportation in and around the US Military Academy at West Point?
While we are located on Academy grounds we do not offer regular transportation. Please inquire at the Front Desk for group transportation options.

There is an additional charge for rollaway beds and cribs. Most rooms can accommodate a rollaway bed and all rooms can accommodate a crib. You may also inquire about the availability of a room with a sofa bed.
Q: I booked on a website other than the hotel website and I need to make a change to my reservation. How do I do this?
Please contact the booking agent that you used when you made the reservation.
Q: What is the minimum age requirement to check in to the room?
18 years old.
Q: What is your cancellation/deposit policy?
The cancellation policy for reservations varies by booking. Each reservation may have a different cancellation policy based on the rates and dates booked. Please see your confirmation email or call our booking agents for specific cancellation policy for your reservation.
Q: Is my ID/passport required at check in?
We do require a photo ID at the time of check-in for all reservations.
Q: Do you have adjoining rooms?
Yes, however, availability is not guaranteed until arrival at the hotel.

Yes, you are welcome to bring our service animal. There is no extra charge for bringing your service animal, however; please make sure to bring necessary supplies (food, water bowl, bed, etc.) that your service animal may require during your stay as the Hotel is not equipped with those items.

MacArthur’s Riverview Restaurant:
Breakfast: Available Monday-Saturday from 7:00am-10:30am.
Award-winning Sunday Champagne Brunch: Sundays from 10:30am – 2:30pm.
Lunch: Available Monday-Saturday 11:30am - 2:30pm.
Dinner: Available every week night from 5:30pm - 9:30pm.
General Patton’s Tavern:
Patton's Tavern will be open for dinner and drinks 7 days a week from 4:00pm-11:00pm, with dinner served from 5:30-8:30pm.
Zulu Time Rooftop Lounge (open seasonally from May-November)
Wednesday - Sunday 4:00pm – 11:00pm (Friday and Saturday last call is 1:30 a.m.)
Q: Do you offer a military discount?
Yes. We are honored to offer a 20% discount for military personnel and their immediate families in MacArthur’s Riverview Restaurant, General Patton’s Tavern, and Zulu Time Rooftop Lounge.
